When I hear the word ‘party’, I think of people falling through ceilings, setting off fire extinguishers and all hell breaking loose in the night. I go to a lot of so called parties now and even more back in the day and this is definitely in the top 10 of my highlight reel.
Rain Events turned a warehouse into a night of magic for a lot of college kids on February 11th 2012 with an event called House of Hearts. The theme for the night was blacklights and highlighters, which allowed you to tell a story with the art of one’s own imagination.
By the time the sun had set, the venue was armed with security and ready for the adventures to begin. The sound coming from the main room was drawing people to it like a moth to an open flame. Along the way, if you paid the twenty five dollars in advance or the thirty five at the door, you were rewarded with an open bar and plenty of alcohol to get the entire party lit off of their asses. It showed as the mood of the night went from all smiles and giggles to clothes coming off, gathering in front of the DJ booth, and dancing the night away.
There was never a dull moment, with all the unexpected comedy arising from a guy falling through the ceiling and the countless people smashed. I have to say that was the party of the year so far and I can only imagine them to get better and better as the masses find out that the underground party scene is not dead.
